Sardines and sun-ripened tomatoes, do we need more? Sun-ripened tomatoes have been a heavenly combination with fresh sardines for as long as I can remember. You can never go wrong with this canned fish in the city. The tomatoes provide both sour and sweet umami to the rich taste of the sardines. We always use fresh sardines, which are traditionally caught with nets in the sea off Portugal and packed in BPA-free cans.

We always use fresh sardines, which are traditionally fished with nets in the sea off Portugal and packed in BPA-free cans .

The sardines from Pinhais are marinated in tomato, which has both acid and richness that makes a good piece of bread good company. The delicate fresh fish flavor and the tomato sauce hardly need anything else, it just needs a bit of chives and an egg. The sardines are fished according to old tradition, where fishing is as gentle to nature as possible, and with a focus on craftsmanship and sustainability. The piquant taste of the marinade complements the sardine's natural umami well and gives a fish that is packed with flavor and healthy fats. It gives your food both taste and health, as it is packed with vitamins, omega-3 fatty acids and protein.
