We always use fresh sardines, which are traditionally fished with nets in the sea off Portugal and packed in BPA-free cans .

The sardines from Pinhais are marinated in spicy tomato, which has both acid and strength. The delicate fish gets flavor from chilli, black pepper, cucumber and carrot and sweetness from the tomato sauce. They taste great on both coarse and light bread, especially with a bit of chives and an egg. The sardines are fished according to old tradition, where fishing is as gentle to nature as possible, and with a focus on craftsmanship and sustainability.
