GRØNDAL'S MACKEREL AND SARDINES
The best canned sardines are said to come from Portugal. At Grøndals, we believe that this should also apply to canned mackerel. Because at our Portuguese producer of canned mackerel and sardines, pride in food quality weighs heavily - it has done so for over 100 years now.
GRÖNDAL'S ANCHOVIES
Anchovies are the stronghold of umami, the most beautiful of all salty fish and flavoring agents in your kitchen. Whether the anchovies are canned or in glass makes no difference. What matters is the freshness of the anchovies, the salting and the hands that fillet the anchovies.
GRØNDAL'S SPLASHES
Some dare to call sprats the Nordic sardines and others dirty fish. We it is a beautiful herring fish with a velvety texture and wonderful taste. It's worth it thanks to their fatty meat, high protein content and the way our producer conjures the fresh fish into gourmet sprinklings that are ready to eat.
Grøndal's squid
Galicia is found in the harsh and rocky northern Spain. The bastion at the extreme point to the northwest. It is also in these waters that there is a tradition of fishing for squid, both ten- and eight-armed squid. But also mussel farming and wild-harvested knife clams are collected here by hand. Near a river delta in the town of Cambados, you will find our producer of the below preserves with i.a. canned squid and canned clams. Again, it is the quality of the raw material, the craftsmanship and the dedication that create the taste experience.
Seaweed is both sustainable and a good flavoring agent
In collaboration with the company Havsmag, we serve a series of preserved fish with Danish hand-harvested bladder kelp. The seaweed is typically harvested in the spring in the belt sea at Langelang. Below you see the two types, which are Norwegian herring fillet in a seaweed pesto and a sej with seaweed. In addition to canned fish with seaweed, we also have a flavor bomb of cold-smoked seaweed in glass - a perfect condiment for those of you who want the taste of the sea.
GRØNDALS SALMON, CANNED
In 2022, at Grøndals, we launched our first product - a lightly smoked salmon piece of filet royal. The salmon is in organic olive oil. The product was developed by the founder behind Grøndals & Co. ApS, Martin Grøndal. I am also the one who wrote this text, and I am quite proud of it.
